Hail DHPD, My name is Magnar, and I am King of the Spartans. Recently myself and a number of my Brothers have came to your homes and engaged your forces. We have done this for one reason: to decide for ourselves if your reputation is warranted. In the many years I have called myself a Spartan, we have never fought your group. Allies have, and they speak about DHPD with respect and honor. The only way we can decide for ourselves and honor your group is through battle. Your Chief, Purple Cat, has spoken to us on our forums and its by their grace I have joined you here. Any DHPD wishing to speak to me about this, the Spartans in general, or really anything feel free to post or send me a PM. Now a concern I am aware of is a number of our targets thus far are evidently members of your Dixie Squad. Your Chief and I have spoken about this and have a understanding if not a outright agreement. Despite not carrying arms themselves, Dixie can serve the group as a whole in ways outside directly engaging us, and are indeed part of DHPD. Prior to Purple Cat addressing us on this matter, we had no way of verifying what DHPD members are in Dixie Squad outside of checking the wiki, a practice we seldom use. If your Chief is a suitable representative of your group, which I have no reason to believe otherwise, I greatly look forward to speaking with each of you and further interactions between our groups. Violence does not always have to be necessary For Sparta! Magnar

Welcome King Magnar
We appreciate the time you have taken to make yourself known to us. We always welcome visits from enemies, so long as they are polite (or humourous).

Hello Magnar duder, As I can respect your challenge I do not respect the murder of my colleagues as sport. Thus in turn you can expect a fierce battle against you for your crimes that will definetly earn you an honorable mind of my fine many. I like a challenge myself. And thank you for your understanding in not hunting our doctors and practitioners. Seems fair enough to me. You wouldnt hit an unarmed dude with glasses ,right? p.s. the improper usage of the word "an" before words that begin with vowels is getting way out of hand. And you're not the only one.

Hey, Magnar. Yeah... your loincloth's riding a bit. Honour and glory, mate - sort it out. I'm Gabby, Bravo Lieutenant. I reject your capitalist oligarchy. I will co-opt my men to crush the Spartans, then build a brave new worker's paradise in the ruins of Sparta. Erm... hey Bravo. Yeah, don't worry about that. Just keep soldiering. ;D

While I agree the Spartans are almost certainly agents of the bourgoisie, if not the aristocracy, and their claims to advance a meritocracy are flawed by over-simplistic notions merit that almost certainly advantage those who control the sources of capital... you still haven't actually persuaded me to declare the DHPD a worker's commune... ... and you're just jealous you don't have the physique to carry off a loin-cloth

I think being communist can be a bigger cop-out than being Christian. ;D What about Christian Communists? Either way, Commy or Christ they both mean as much to me as the illusions of Siegfried and Roy.. ( eventually you'll get maimed by some albino tiger when you least expect it ) In other news: nice to see the 'enemy out of nothing' named Sparta does meta-game.. Doesn't make up for the griefing and bad sportmanship we witnessed here and there but this 'heads-up' is a good step in the right direction.. If only Sparta played a better game of Soccer in the Dutch league, cuz Sparta has been slacking badly in Dutch soccer.. Is that the real reason you guys came over to annoy us? Like the DHPD is responsible for your failing trainer Frans Adelaar..?

/me blinks. Well, most certainly more responses then I expected during work. I shall try to address each of you best I can. Purple Cat: Again, many thanks. To quote King Leonidas himself, there is no reason we cant be civil. Betard: the slaughter of your comrades is by no mean a sick sport. We are not, despite what your own opinion maybe, psychotic and mindless killers. We are first and foremost soldiers of Sparta. Attacking Malton's citizens is our way of testing the city to ensure she may make it through this crises. After all, the finest students graduate from the hardest schools, no? As for hitting a unarmed man, while that maybe done as part of the harrowing and other discipline, I do acknowledge your point that there is little honor in killing unarmed citizens. However, I emphasize a point I made earlier: my men have no way to tell if a DHPD officer is armed or not. Additionally, Dixie Squad and indeed any unarmed DHPD is hardly a helpless sheep for the slaughter. Each officer here is held in high regard by my allies, and we have come to test DHPD's reputation. Individual squads more capable to the challenge maybe called upon later, but that is not why we have come to your home. Gabby: Capitalist oligarchy? You do realize that the Spartans of old actually forbid currency. . . .or perhaps not? If you want even a half-witted attempt to discuss Spartan philosophy pro or cons, well we may just have to find a appropriate place to discuss that. Especially if your 'workers paradise' means what I think it does Re: loin clothes: they are purely optional. Cant hate on us for pulling it off Jim Extreme: Much obliged. Pickles are of course cheeky little burger condiments, the rascal of the fast food industry. goldstar: for the record, cant be done. Thom Solo: thankee kind sir galliminus: "enemy out of nowhere" yes, but the metagaming bit should hardly be surprised. My identity is indeed known on other forums, I just havent done anything to attract the attention of your group previously. Alas, I must admit that much like the rest of my country, my knowledge of European Football is rather poor. A rugger myself. Mr.Murat: we may get along better then one would expect I work overnight on my second job, but will check for further responses prior to that and after if not sufficiently tired.

Another Group about to test our mettle? excellent! i was getting rather tired of just blasting mindless zeds and you seem like the decent sort. Except for the whole wanting to kill us part sure you wouldn't rather sit down and have a cold one? Course if your dead set on it no crime shall go unpunished!

Cant hate on us for pulling it off Hmm. *reads wikipedia* Two hereditary monarchs, so far so minority rule. Council of elders, often related to the kings. Representative democracy. Sounds pretty bourgeois so far. Slavery, nice and capitalist. No trade, no manufacture. I see. Say... what happened to Sparta? Although, this: is awesome. Kudos.

Well, some of us have moved onto other resources then wikipedia Though they generally had two kings throughout their time, one led away on campaign and one stayed home to rule over Sparta. Every Spartan man was called a "Peer", and in addition to serving in the Spartan army they were able to speak their mind freely and without recourse. Also they were forbidden any profession outside of war. (OOC: constant military readiness was a requirement. the Helot slaves frequently rebelled and had to be defeated throughout Sparta's time). Sparta eventually fell to not to Phillip II, but rather Thebes. Thebes in return fell early in Alexander the Greats campaign, who was son of Phillip II. Sparta of course evolved and changed over its time. For the purposes of Malton, we focus on Sparta as she was during the Greco-Persian wars. Many people know this from the Battle of Thermapolye as featured in the movie 300. Edit to add: found Jackboot Johnny's skype in their profile and thought I'd add, though us being quite aways apart on the globe will make it hard to consistently chat.

Greetings from the Medic squad, Dixie, that you decided to pick on first. Classy shit, really. While I lack King Magnars skill of diplomacy I will try. As far as attacking dixie squad, quite simply you were the first dhpd that we found. It wasn't until recently that we were made aware of your pacifist ways. However, speaking only for myself, you will still be attacked if found. While you may be unarmed you still have the ability to do recon for your comrades and therefore are akin to spys and will be dealt with. If you wish to spare yourself the sword of Sparta I suggest you retreat to a safe distance. For the other squads, I question why it has taken so long for you to come to the defense of the dixies. Were you not brave enough to battle Sparta by yourselves? As King Magnar mentioned we only came to test your bravery and prowess on the battlefield. So far it appears to be lacking. I hope all the brave words on this forum will equate into action soon as I am growing weary of thinning your ranks unopposed.
