you can if you want, but another option would be to click 'profile' up at the top of the board here and edit your display name.
while you're at it, make sure to copy the url for your character's profile and paste it into your signature. You can find your profile link if you click on your name in-game (on the left). We're always happy to help out the new guys as best we can- this game is rough on beginners.
