could I ask what the Squad thing is
again I am very new to this game and really dont know what I am doing

We organise ourselves into squads to coordinate action. Omega is a training squad. Your squad leader, FaMz will try and help you level up as quickly as possible and show you the ropes. He should introduce himself soon.
You should be able to see a Police Academy board now and there's an Omega squad thread in there so you can go introduce yourself to the rest of the new recruits.
