Well if laundry means rebuilding a suburb after the other squads fled in terror, and dry cleaning means reviving civilians left behind by said squads, that's basically true ;D
Other than that, our recruitment ad from the Police Academy subboard sums it up as:
Charlie Squad is DHPD's force reconnaisance squad. Our role is to provide intel on target areas so that Brass can decide where to send the other squads, and also frequently to strike and secure targets ourselves. We sometimes operate alone and outgunned in some distance to the rest of the department, so Charlie members are expected to carry a broad selection of all types of equipment to enable us to serve as a self reliant hit and run type commando squad.
[...] We expect the usual skills required for graduation, and various roles can be filled within the squad depending on which path you want to take from there. If you have the necessary courage under fire, contact squad leadership in chat or via PM, and we will get you sorted out.
